6-Pac Boats - Here's my growing list of 6-pack sport fishing charters I have had good success with. From a father and son or daughter, up to person charter.

 

Whale Watching out of San Diego, Orange County and LA

Every year between November and April the California Gray Whale makes its annual migration to Baja, Mex.. at  Magdalena Bay ("Mag Bay"). This is an added bonus for fisherman taking trips out of San Diego as I recall countless trips spotting them on the way too and from the fishing grounds. There is plenty of deep water and food around the Coronado Islands just across the border in Mexican waters where most of our 3/4 day boats head that whales are often spotted.

Taking a Whale Watch trip is a great way to test your sea legs and see if your boy or girl is prone to sea sickness and likes being out on the water. This is great preparation for the longer half and three-quarter day trips as well. The scenery is spectacular in my opinion anywhere off San Diego's coast. You can catch these trips most days no matter where you are staying in San Diego.

There are trips out of  Helgren's Sportfishing out of Oceanside Harbor in North San Diego County further South at Seaforth Sportfishing out of Quivera Basin at Mission Bay and at H&M Landing or Pt. Loma Sportfishing on San Diego Bay near Shelter Island. H&M and Pt. Loma are closest to the San Diego Airport.

Year round there is something going on offshore Southern California and there aren't many rainy days or rough seas down here making it an excellent place to Whale Watch or Fish most every day.
